Ongoing Support

An essential element of the Family Enrichment Weekend happens after the families return home. Each family receives follow-along assistance, either by phone or home visits.  Home visits are provided to any family who needs additional assistance in home with their child’s behavior.  These visits not only help parents with their child with autism but also with managing all their children using the Children Who Challenge parent training program. Information on the Children Who Challenge training program can be accessed online using the link provided or can be found in Appendix G in the hard copy of the manual.  You may contact Families Together for the Children who Challenge training manual.  Parents can also request assistance in working with schools and planning for transition for young adults.  Staff members will attend school meetings and coach families on developing educational programs for their child. Each family also receives a box containing information on special education law, parenting tips, and other information on autism.  The “All About Me Box” is designed to help parents organize all their child’s important medical and school records and can be easily brought to meetings with therapists, physicians, and school personnel.  Information on the All About Me Box program can be accessed online using the link provided or can be found in Appendix G in the hard copy of the manual. For families who need ongoing support, they can sign up at Chris Curry Consulting and receive assistance with managing behavior and working with schools.
