The tone for the Family Enrichment Weekend is created and maintained by the Family Fun Guys. These are highly trained young men and women who are selected because they are energetic, entertaining performers and musicians who love children and live to enjoy life.  They are also selected because of their educational background and experience.  For example, the Family Fun Guys who currently work with Families Together include a special education teacher, a school counselor, a classroom aid in a school for children with autism, a director for a boy scout camp, and a recreation therapist.  The majority are college graduates with degrees in education and psychology.   There are at least six Family Fun Guys at each event.  Their main function is to assist during family activities.  Some work primarily on stage and others are on the floor helping the families and companions enjoy the activities.   They are also capable of improvising a new family activity when a planned activity is too short or does not work out for any reason.  They assist in designing and organizing the family activities.  During the Family Enrichment Event they also help with the children’s program as additional support for the companions.
